Turtle Nesting Experience, A Cultural Night-Walking Tour on Cable Beach

"Please note that these tours only operate during November and December"

Join a former - but well experienced - Indigenous Ranger named Johani Mamid on a Cultural Night Walking Tour while he searches for nesting sea turtles on Cable Beach.

If he successfully finds a nesting turtle he will safely guide you through the nest buiding and egg laying process while you get to observe and record the whole "beginning of life" experience.

We will provide the appropriate torches. All you have to do is bring your own drinking water and wear enclosed footwear and clothing that is suitable for night beach walking. You will get very sandy if we do find a nesting turtle and there is a possibility of rainfall.

The beach walk distance could be anything between 500 meters to 2 kilometers. This will depend on how soon we find a nesting turtle (if we find one at all) and how the tour group feels.

While the walk is paced to suit the group and we will not be walking fast, the beach sand can be very soft and challenging to walk through for some people.

This tour does not suit guests with a poor fitness level.
